Team India fast bowler Mohammed Shami’s wife, Hasin Jahan has filed a court case against him in the Kolkata Alipore Court on Tuesday.

She had earlier levelled several charges against the pacer which included adultery, domestic violence and several others. Hasin also alleged Shami was involved in several extra-marital affairs.

She had earlier filed a complaint against the pacer at the Lalbazar Police Station. He was charged under several bailable and non-bailable charges of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

It included Section 498 A which amounts to public violence against husband and his relatives. She further alleged Shami had mentally tortured her for the last couple of years and had even demanded a divorce.

However, Shami had denied all the allegations. Earlier Shami’s central contract was withheld by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) after Hasin alleged Shami could have even betrayed his country as he did to her.

However, after a probe conducted by the Anti-Corruption Agency, Shami was cleared to play in all formats of the game.

He returned to cricket during the first game for the Delhi Daredevils in the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League. Shami was smashed for runs, as he failed to find his rhythm. He eventually returned wicketless.
