We are almost approaching the end of this year, and like all the years, 2017 was a memorable one for several cricketers who produced some brilliant performances over the course of this calendar year to win recognition for their country. However, let’s talk about an unusual statistics that most of the batsmen would prefer to avoid.

The bowlers almost dominate the top ten cricketers with the most number of ducks in the longer format of the game with Sri Lanka’s Nuwan Pradeep topping the chart with seven ducks from 6 matches. The right-handed Pakistani batsman Babar Azam will be keen to improve his statistics as he features on the second spot with five ducks from six matches.

The third and fourth spot was occupied by Australia’s Nathan Lyon and West Indies Shannon Gabriel with five ducks each beside their name. Bangladesh’s young cricketer Mustafizur Rehman holds the fifth spot with four ducks from six games. West Indian fast bowler Kemar Roach, England’s Stuart Broad and Sri Lanka’s Dilruwan Perera also have four ducks to their name, but they have Broad and Perera have played more games than Roach’s seven matches which put him in the sixth place. Broad and Perera occupy the next two spot achieving this unwanted record in 10 and 11 matches respectively, which they will surely look to change as they are well capable of playing big knocks.
