The Top-3 batsmen of any batting line-up in any format are considered to be most essential for any team as their performance can quiet often can make or break the match. When the number 1,2 and 3 score runs the team can score big runs, but if they fail to do so then the middle order is under a lot of pressure, which at times they can’t cope with and there is a continuous fall of wickets.
We have seen many instances when the first three batsmen of the team have done well and the team has come out to be victorious. Therefore today we will take a look at team innings when the first three players have scored most number of runs.

From the Top 10-list that we see above, only once it has been possible that all the three batsmen have scored a century in a single match and together the triplet of Hashim Amla, AB de Villiers and Rossouw scored a record 430 runs.
On 5 instances we can see that the first three players of the batting line-up from India have scored a lot of runs. Indeed occupying 5 spots from the Top 10. This also shows proves why batting is the strength of India team. While Sourav Ganguly is featured thrice in this list Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid and Upul Tharanga have all made it to this list on two occasions.
When the first 3 players of the batting line up end up scoring 300 odd runs and 400+ runs we must definitely feel for the bowlers who would bowl 50 overs and be hammered all over the ground and still end up picking 1 or 2 wickets.
