MS Dhoni Achieves An Unique Record, Joins The League Of Sachin Tendulkar And Rahul Dravid 1

Former India skipper MS Dhoni today added another feat to his lengthy list of record after he overtook Mohammad Azharuddin to become the 4th highest run getter for India in the One Day International format. He earned the achievement with a better average and with a lesser number of matches that Azhar who also is a former captain of India.

The legendary Sachin Tendulkar leads the list as the highest ODI run getter not only for India but overall among all teams with a staggering stats of 18426 runs from 463 matches at an average of 44.83 including 49 hundreds and 96 fifties.

At a distant two is former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly who retired with 11221 runs in 308 matches at an average of 40.95 featuring 22 hundreds and 71 fifties.

Rahul Dravid occupied the third spot in the list. Known as “The Wall”, the veteran of 340 ODIs ended his career with 10768 runs at an average of 39.15 with the help of 12 centuries and 82 fifties batting in the middle order.

Mohammad Azharuddin, who has now slipped to the fifth position, also has a wonderful tally of 9375 runs from 334 ODIs.

Indian opener Rohit Sharma also gained a place on the prestigious list as he jumped ahead of Suresh Raina to the no. 8th position in the list of top 10.

The right hander achieved the distinction when he reached the score of 98 which took him ahead of Suresh Raina’s current tally of overall 5568 runs from 223 ODIs.

Sharma has also reached the milestone in fewer number matches as it took him just 161 ODIs.
