Indian batsman Shreyas Iyer said that MS Dhoni gave him the golden advise that he should stay away from the social media. Dhoni advised the young batsman so that he could stay focus at the job in hand.
Furthermore, Iyer said that the criticism helps in motivating him. Interestingly, Iyer also revealed an interesting story when a girl approached him after he was bought for a hefty amount in the IPL.

“After I joined the Indian cricket team, MS Dhoni advised me that I need to avoid reading the newspapers and should try to stay away from social media as much as possible,” Shreyas Iyer said while talking at a talk-show.
Iyer added that he tries to find the right balance between his life and social media. The right-hander said that criticism acts as a shot in the arm for him.
“Social media has become a big part of our lives and I try to manage it well but it’s the criticism that motivates me and keeps me going,” he added.
The 23-year-old right-hander from Mumbai also revealed an interesting story when the girl’s behavior changed when he grabbed a deal in the IPL. Subsequently, Iyer came to know that the girl was behind the money.
“Soon after the auction news was out, this girl whom I knew started messaging me. On confronting her as to why she is desperately trying to reach out. I got to know that she was doing so because she was happy for me.
“That’s when I understood that rather than getting to know me, she was behind the money,” he revealed.
Shreyas Iyer has shown the promise to be the future of Indian cricket. In fact, he also led the India A side with aplomb taking them to victory against England Lions and Windies A. Therefore, Iyer will look to keep impressing with his good performances.
