Recently in an interview, the present Indian limited-overs’ vice-captain Rohit Sharma has claimed that MS Dhoni is the best Indian captain.
MS Dhoni was one of the most successful captains in international cricket history. Under his captaincy, India won the ICC World T20 2007, ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 and ICC Champions Trophy 2013. He also led the Indian team to climb on top of the ICC Test rankings for the first time since the global governing body officially started to rank the teams in 2003.

Under MS Dhoni’s captaincy, Indian Premier League (IPL) team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) won three IPL trophies and two Champions League T20 trophies. In fact, Dhoni-led CSK has never finished an IPL season below the top four.
The 32-year-old Indian opening batsman Rohit Sharma has played under many captains in the international career as well as IPL career. Even, under Rohit’s captaincy, Mumbai Indians (MI) won the IPL trophy four times and also won one Champions League T20 trophy. Rohit-led India has also achieved some good success in international cricket.
Remaining calm has helped MS Dhoni to make such good decisions on the field – Rohit Sharma
In the recent interview, Rohit talked about MS Dhoni. He feels that Dhoni is the best Indian captain, and he credits Dhoni’s calmness for success.

Rohit said in an interview with Curly Tales, “Whole India knows MS Dhoni is the one who has been like that. It (remaining calm) has helped him to make such good decisions on the field. He is now the most successful Indian captain, having won all the three ICC trophies and IPL titles as well. He is the best captain India has seen.
“Obviously there is a reason behind it and that reason is him being calm and composed under pressure situation. I have seen him handle a lot of younger bowlers when they get under pressure. He just goes around and puts his arm around their neck and talks to them. When a younger player is treated like that by a senior member of the team, you obviously feel confident.”
