MS Dhoni satisfied with win over Delhi Daredevils

Chasing seems to have become Rohit Sharma’s hobby off late, as the Indian opener was once again flawless against the Rising Pune Supergiants. On the back of Rohit’s unbeaten knock of 85, Mumbai Indians registered a fairly comfortable win and by the courtesy of the win, they are now placed at the second position in the points table.

On batting first, Pune got off to a flying start as the hosts seemed to be well on course for a massive total. However, things went haywire post the 10th over as MS Dhoni found it incredibly difficult to get the runs flowing and his run a ball knock of 24 pretty much summed up the agony of the Supergiants. In the last 10 overs, the hosts could only manage a paltry 66 runs, which ultimately led to their downfall.

Post the game, MS Dhoni admitted that Pune’s batting in the last 10 overs was unacceptable including his own knock. “I think we didn’t bat well after the 10th over, and that includes me. At times, we thought too much about losing wickets. From next game, we have to give responsibility to a few guys to bat through the innings and others can play around them. We need to go out and express ourselves. We might get out for 140 odd but we will also give ourselves a chance,” said Dhoni at the post-match presentation.

Dhoni added that his side’s improved bowling wouldn’t count if the result didn’t second that. “Bowling has improved. But for giving runs on both the sides, we had done well today. But nothing counts if we are not winning. We have to change a few theories. We don’t have much to lose. Go out there and take things as they come,” said Dhoni.
