The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has goofed up with the profile of former India skipper, MS Dhoni on their website.
Meanwhile, the veteran had stepped down from captaincy in 2017, and Virat Kohli is leading the Men in Blue across all the formats since. However, there are no doubts about Dhoni’s credibility as a skipper.
The small town boy has achieved everything possible in world cricket. He is the only skipper to win three ICC trophies. He acclaimed the ultimate prize in 2007, 2011, and 2013 in the form of World T20, World Cup, and Champions Trophy respectively.
Dhoni was also leading the team when India became number 1 in Test cricket in 2009 for the first time ever. Also, the Men in Blue won their first tri-series in Australia under his captaincy, and they also whitewashed the same team down under in the three-match T20I series back in 2016.
Dhoni led with gusto from 2007-2016. His last big tournament as captain was the World T20 2016, where he took India to the semi-finals.
Dhoni had already retired from Test cricket during the Australia series in 2014-15 and gave up captaincy in 2017 when he knew the time was right for Virat Kohli to take over.
Meanwhile, the veteran wicket-keeper batsman recently attracted a lot of criticism. He failed to score quick runs in the recently concluded ODI series, as India lost the series 2-1.
However, after almost two years after giving up captaincy, the BCCI still thinks MS Dhoni is the captain and have put up the same on his official profile on their website BCCI.tv.
