The Indian wicketkeeper captain MS Dhoni has improved his position among the list of wicketkeepers with most dismissals behind the wickets. Now, he is proudly standing at 4th position with 629 victims, out of which 281 were achieved in the test matches, 312 in the ODIs and he got 36 of them in T20 Internationals.
This includes his 3 hunts made during the three ODIs while playing in Asian XI. Overall, MS Dhoni has 496 catches and 133 stumps to his credit. It is apprehended that MS Dhoni will overtake Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakkara’s record of 652 in near future, thereby reaching at 3rd spot in worldwide tally of wicket keepers with highest dismissals.
At present, South Africa’s Mark Boucher is ruling the list at the top spot with 998 dismissals. Adam Gilchrist of Australia is currently holding the second spot with 905. It is really nice to see our vibrant captain achieving glory every now and then. His role of a best finisher will prove to be very useful in the ongoing series against Australia.
Also, given his capability of leading by coming upfront and his quality to work out the most appropriate strategy as per the need of the hour will be a crucial factor in the victory of team India in ongoing series and the upcoming series. But what I personally adore is his risk taking abilities which proves to be a game changer under a given situation.
In any case, his contribution as a captain, best finisher, an effective wicket keeper and a motivator, based on his wonderful chemistry with his team mates, will also play a very important part during the World Cup. Hope to see him striking well for the sake of millions of his fans.
