An energetic and vibrant Suresh Raina is fully prepared to strike again for CSK in CLT-20. Raina is obviously bubbling with confidence after his recent excellent performance in the England India series.

A jubilant Raina, appreciates the faith imposed by skipper MS Dhoni in his cricketing skills and evaluates the chemistry between two of them. Underlining the confidence imposed by the skipper, Raina said “Our rapport is there for all to see on the ground. He has been a very successful captain. The primary reason is the way he motivates youngsters. Badrinath, Ashwin, Jadeja and I blossomed under him in CSK in the past seven years. My improvement as a player has a lot to do with the confidence infused by him.”

Defining his specified role as a bowler he said “My job is to bowl a lot of dot balls and build pressure on the batsmen. It would enable Ashwin and Jadeja do the damage from the other end.”

On the possibility of CSK winning the CLT-20 he stated “We have fared exceedingly well in the IPL and the Champions League. There is always a healthy competition between Indian and foreign teams. I believe this format is all about the first six overs. With the advantage of possessing a supreme opening combination (Dwayne Smith and Brendon McCullum), I want to be the finisher whether we chase or set a total. It’s about being positive both as a team as well as an individual.”

While concluding he said “First of all, turning things around in the ODIs in England was imperative. We have been a very good all-round side. With the Cup around the corner, the biggest challenge is to be at your best at all times.”
