India’s Chairman of Selectors, MSK Prasad, after clarifying the fact that Yuvraj Singh hasn’t been dropped and has been rested for the upcoming series came up with another announcement.

He made it clear that the team management is not considering Pant for the full fledged ODI’s just yet after a lacklustre showing for India A in South Africa. Prasad further added that they are looking at Pant for more T20 cricket presently.

Undoubtedly Pant is a rare talent and his exceptional ability to smash the big shots at will makes him a dangerous prospect especially in the shortest format of the game. He was impressive while playing for the Delhi Daredevils and showed glimpses of what the teenage prospect was capable of. He hasn’t got enough chances in the national team yet but will look to make a return once the T20 matches are in full flow.

“Rishabh Pant is one to watch out for. He didn’t have a great SA tour. We are looking at him for T20 cricket more,” Prasad said.

Meanwhile, Prasad also conceded the fact that any junior cricketer coming to the Indian circuit is a finished product now and the credit goes to none other than Rahul Dravid who has been with the junior and the A sides and have helped them by leaps and bounds. “Any junior cricketer coming to India senior team is a finished product, like Hardik Pandya. It is all thanks to Rahul Dravid,” Prasad said.

Hardik Panyda has been a find for India and his fearless attitude makes him a special talent. He played a sensational knock in the ICC Champions Trophy final against Pakistan and almost threatened to take the game away from the arch-rivals before a terrible mix-up with Ravindra Jadeja led to his downfall.

Pandya also smashed his maiden Test century yesterday against Sri Lanka at Pallekele. It was carnage, to say the least as Pandya literally toyed with the Lankan bowlers and brought up his maiden first class century. His innings was laced with 7 humungous hits over the fence and 7 fours.
