Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders To Kick Off Preparatory Camp For IPL From March 25
Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will kick off their preparatory camp for the upcoming season of IPL from Saturday i.e. March 25. Wankhede stadium will be the venue of camp for the Mumbai-based franchise whereas the KKR boys will assemble at Eden gardens to kick off the proceedings ahead of the T20 league.
This year, Mumbai Indians will play under a new Head Coach Mahela Jayawardene, who was designated this position last year in November replacing Ricky Ponting.
Along with him, Robin Singh (batting coach), Jonty Rhodes (fielding coach), Shane Bond (bowling coach), Paul Chapman (trainer) and Nitin Patel (physio) will also assist the team members to brush up their skills.
Players like Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Karn Sharma, Krishnappa Gowtham, Saurabh Tiwary, Jagadeesha Suchith, Nitish Rana, Deepak Punia and Jitesh Sharma will join the camp from today itself whereas Harbhajan Singh, Parthiv Patel, Ambati Rayudu, Krunal Pandya and Kulwant Khejroliya will join the camp after the conclusion of Deodhar Trophy.
On the other hand, Simon Katich, the Assistant Coach of the team will oversee the proceedings in KKR camp as Head Coach Jacques Kallis will have a delayed arrival due to some personal reasons. Sheldon Jackson, Ankit Rajpoot, Sayan Ghosh, Rishi Dhawan will join the camp today.
Players like Kuldeep Yadav, who made his debut in the Dharamsala Test and Umesh Yadav will join the camp after the completion of the game whereas Shakib al Hasan and Sunil Narine, who are part of their respective national squads will join KKR squad mid-way of the tournament.
