The 17-year-old Mumbai left-arm spinner, Sidak Singh, has been called for suspected action for the third time in his career. Sidak was playing the Vinoo Mankad game against Saurashtra U19 in Pune when he was called for the suspected action.
It has come as a big heartbreak for the young kid as this issue has been affecting his career from past two years since he made his debut. The left-arm spinner became the youngest ever player to represent Mumbai in domestic cricket since Sachin Tendulkar in the year 2015 when he represented his state in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Sidak was under scanner last year as well in the Cooch Behar Trophy. Then he went to Chennai to get his action cleared. It was his quicker delivery which is under scanner
This suspect action issue has cost Sidak a place in India U19 team as he has never been considered for the same due to his suspect action issue.
Being reported thrice at such a young age is a big issue which the state Board has now to take under consideration and work upon the young bowler as he is one of the rare commodities to make it to the big stage at age of just 15.
This has put Sidak under immense pressure now; he is still a young boy who has a long career ahead of him. Any action taken against him will be unfair to him as he has shown his skills and credentials in junior and senior cricket at such a young age.
The Mumbai cricket association is yet to receive a report from match referee and they will be referring to the case only after that.
