Bangladesh left-arm seamer and famously known as the ‘Cutter Specialist” Mustafizur Rahman is likely to miss the first couple of matches of the Bangladesh Premier League, BCB officials said on Thursday. Mustafizur will turn up for the Rajshahi Kings in the forthcoming season and will miss the first few matches after sustaining an injury on the left leg while playing football during warm-up in South Africa.

The left-arm seamer sustained the grade-two ankle injury around 13 days ago, and Debashish Chowdhury believes that rest for another two weeks would help Fizz to regain full fitness. “He will need under complete rest for the next two weeks, and that will allow him to have one-month lay-off that I believe will be enough for recovery.
“However, in the meantime, he will be doing the rehabilitation program that began from Wednesday. After completing this last two weeks of his rehabilitation program he will need some more time to get back into bowling fitness and only then can we say when he can return to the field,” Chowdhury further added.
Mustafizur would have become an icon player for the Barishal Bulls, but after their failure to put up the required appearance fees, Mustafizur has been roped in by Rajshahi Kings. Seven of the top players from Bangladesh have already signed for seven different franchises as those players were allowed by the BPL Governing Council to choose their teams.
The 5th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League will commence from 4th November at Sylhet. The Rajshahi Kings open their campaign on the 2nd day of the tournament against the Rangpur Riders. Mustafizur announced his arrival to international cricket with a sensational performance against India in the three-match ODI series in 2015.
He bagged a record 13 wickets in the series including two fifers as Bangladesh defeated India in a series for the first time in their history.
