Mustafizur Rahman is a special talent - David Warner

Powered by an inspiring spell from Mustafizur Rahman, the Sunrisers Hyderabad continued their dominance in IPL 2016. The Kings XI Punjab batsmen seemed utterly clueless against the guile and skills of Rahman, who just conceded a mere 9 runs in his 4 over spell, and picked 2 wickets. Thanks to the special display by Rahman, Kings XI were restricted to just 143.

The chase was simply a formality as Warner was once again ballistic. The Australian opener demolished the Kings XI bowlers and was at his absolute best. Shikhar Dhawan was happy to play the second fiddle and supported Warner well. In the end, the Sunrisers got home with 13 balls to spare and won by 5 wickets.

In the post match presentation, Sunrisers skipper David Warner was full in awe for Man of the Match Mustafizur Rahman. “Mustafizur is a special talent and Bangladesh should be privileged to have him. He has proved himself here and hopefully he can continue doing well. Also has a very good knowledge of the game. He is a quality talent. Thanks to the crowd for your support,” said Warner.

Speaking about the overall result, Warner said, “I am just ecstatic for the boys. They bowled fantastic. I said at the toss that they are bowling well and they did well to restrict them. You have to give yourself time and when the ball is in your area, just go for it and that is how I play. Good to see Shikhar get a few runs. I was just telling him to get his time and get his rhythm back. With such totals it can get tricky sometimes. Disappointing that one of us could not be there.”

Kings XI Punjab skipper David Miller accepted that it was another tough day for him, but acknowledged the brilliance of David Warner. “It was a tough day. Once again we didn’t score enough runs. We lost a few wickets in the middle. The positive is we ended really well. The guys are on high spirits, but the results haven’t gone our way. We still do believe that we are in the competition. There is a lot to look forward to do. I have lost five out five tosses, so have to win one next time. They started really well and Warner batted unbelievably and took the game away. Credit to him but we pulled it back. Every game becomes crucial and I believe we can still do it and we will get back on the mojo,” said Miller.
