Bangladesh teenage pace sensation Mustafizur Rahman is all set to fly for his county stint in England. He said he is ready for his county stint with Sussex.
Mustafizur Rahman has gone through rehabilitation period since his IPL stint in India. During the franchise based T20 tournament, he loses his weight that took a toll on his body. In the IPL he has taken 17 wickets in 16 matches and finished at fifth position of the table.
“It would be good to go to Sussex. I will try to give my best there. When you talk about cricket the name of England comes first. I feel better than I was after I came to Dhaka from the IPL. I can bowl now, which I wasn’t able to previously,” Mustafizur was quoted as saying by a Bangladesh daily.
Mustafizur Rahman also bowled seven overs at the net apart from talking about his fitness.
The Satkhira district bowler has played his last time in England in 2013 in the U-19 World Cup. But he has to return to the country because of his injury.
Mustafizur Rahman will celebrate the first Eid after making his debut for the national team Bangladesh so this time, the national religious festival will be more joyful than ever. He will visit his hometown Tetulia today.
“Last time I was in Chittagong during the Eid vacation and it was too hard for me. But this time I will have my parents and brothers beside me at home during the Eid celebrations, so what can be better for me?” said Mustafizur. The 20-year-old also added that he would prefer to stay at home during the holidays rather than traveling.
The scrawny bowler also said he didn’t buy any gift for his family, but gave money to his family members so they can buy something as per their choice.
Meanwhile, the BCB spokesperson said Mustafizur Rahman will depart for England on July 13. Mustafizur will play for Sussex. However, he also gets his visa. In England, he will play four NatWest Blast and Royal London One-Day Cup.
“Our medical team informed us that his rehabilitation went well and he is fine now. He is doing fine in training at the moment and we expect him to keep improving in the coming days. He will leave for England on July 13 if he gets the visa,” said Yunus.
