BCCI’s General Manager (Cricket Operations) MV Sridhar resigned from the post, and his resignation was accepted by the Supreme Court Appointed Committee Of Administrators. Sridhar submitted his resignation at COA’s meeting held at Cricket Center Headquarters. BCCI’s CEO Rahul Johri will head the cricket operations in the meantime. The team will comprise three members, Mayank Parik(international cricket, logistics), KVP Rao (Domestic Cricket) and Gaurav Saxena (ICC and ACC matters)

Johri sent the E-mail to the Office bearers informing about the resignation. The PTI has the sent E-mail. The mail read,
“Please note that Dr MV Sridhar has decided to move on and tendered his resignation,” Johri wrote in his mail to the office-bearers. His resignation has been accepted today by the Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators (COA). Dr Sridhar has agreed to stay on till September 30, 2017 for smooth handover of work. We thank him for his services to BCCI.”
Sridhar has been under the scanner for some time now. There have been allegations on him about financial impropriety when he headed Hyderabad Cricket Association.
A BCCI official close to the matter said:
“Sridhar was time and again told to relocate to Mumbai and operate from there. However, he was shuttling between Hyderabad and Mumbai, which was not the best way to function for the head of Cricket Operations.”
The final nail in the coffin was when Sridhar was alleged on the appointment of a trainer Sohum Desai in the NCA. He also ignited fire among BCCI when he scrapped Duleep Trophy. However, it was later restored by the COA.
In his clarification, Sridhar said:
“The boy stood second in the test and there is no Conflict of Interest in this case.”
It was later found that Desai didn’t even appear for the test for recruitment of NCA trainers. The official said,
“The COA were left embarrassed after the whole saga and it was a matter of time before Sridhar had to put in his papers.”
