The modern game is generally known as the batsmen game. It is generally dominated by the big bats and the poor bowlers are taken to the cleaners. However, it was the other way around when Myanmar and Malaysia locked horns in the ongoing  ICC World T20 Asia Regions Qualifiers in Kuala Lumpur.

In fact, the match was affected by the rain. Malaysia won the toss and decided to bowl first. However, Myanmar got off to a poor start as they lost their first two wickets on the first three balls, without adding anything to their score.

Pavandeep Singh was breathing fire.

Pavandeep Singh was the chief destroyer of the Myanmar batting innings. In fact, the southpaw spinner gave away just one run in his quota of four overs. Furthermore, the left-arm spinner scalped a five-wicket haul and bowled three maiden overs.

Pavandeep Singh gave a fine start to his side as he scalped two wickets in his first over. He sent back opener Ko Ko Lin Thu after getting the better off Ye Naing Tun. No Myanmar batsman was able to score more than one run as they collapsed like a house of cards.

Interestingly, out of the nine runs that Myanmar managed to score, six were off the bat whereas the remaining three were byes. Myanmar was tottering at 9-8 in 10.1 before the rain came to their rescue. Thus, Malaysia target was revised and they had to chase only six runs to win the match.

However, Malaysia also followed the footsteps of their opposition as they also lost two wickets without adding anything to their runs column. Nonetheless, they were eventually able to get to the target as Suhan Alagarathnam hit the only six as well as the boundary of the match.
