Najam Sethi Scheduled to Travel India to Attend ICC Meeting

Pakistan cricket lynchpin, Najam Sethi, along with Chief Operating Officer of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Subhan Ahmad, is scheduled to travel to Indian this week. They are scheduled to attend world cricket body ICC’s meeting.

For those unaware of the recent developments of Indo-Pak cricket, ICC decided to intervene between the two cricketing boards – to resolve the long-standing dispute.

India allegedly has not obliged to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed for the period starting from 2014.

As a result, PCB decided to sue BCCI for not following the MoU with Najam Sethi at the helm of affairs.

It is learnt from Pakistan-based newspaper Expres Tribune that there will be talks of resumption of bilateral cricketing ties between the arch-rivals. This comes in as good news for the cricket fans.

The ICC is not able to conduct the Test Championship due to the dispute between the two boards, in their bid to conserve Test Cricket.

ICC’s meeting will be held in Kolkata on April 21-22. Two officials issued their visas for the said date.

Furthermore, IPL franchises also have boycotted the Pakistani players. The cricketers from Pakistan have been barred to take part owing to the professional domestic Twenty20 league.

India and Pakistan only face off against each other during ICC’s top-notch competitions.
