Naman Ojha to replace Wriddhiman Saha in Indian squad for England tour
Naman Ojha, an young talent for India is set to replace the young wicket-keeper,Wriddhiman Saha. Naman Ojha, gave an awesome India A performance and for him it was successful outing for the India A side during their four-day matches on the tour of Australia. Due to his recent India A success, on Thursday he was selected as a replacement for Wriddhiman Saha in the Indian squad for the remainder of the Test matches in England series. India is hoping that this replacement might help them in the upcoming matches.
Naman Ojha is considered as Saha’s replacement as Ojha is also a keeper as well as prolific batsman. Ojha had a successful run during the tour of Australia, wherein he smashed three centuries during the two-four day games, narrowly missing out on breaking Rahul Dravid’s unique batting record. His performance catch everyone’s eye and he was considered as the best replacement for Saha. The right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman registered the scores of 219 not out, 101 not out and 110 during the Australian tour and that was the best performance by any player in that tour. Ojha’s performance didn’t go unnoticed, as now he has got the chance to play in Indian national team due to Saha’s injury.
India lost the third Test by 266 runs to the hosts as they levelled the series at Southampton. In reply to England’s 569 for seven declared, India could manage only 330 and 178 in their two innings. After this dismal defeat India is desperate for a win and takes a upper hand in the Series. Naman is hoping that he utilises the chance given to him to the fullest.
