2011 World Cup’s man of the tournament and one of India’s best limited-overs batsmen Yuvraj Singh fought his way back to fight against cancer.

Yuvraj was detected with a tumour in his lungs just after the triumph of 2011 World Cup. It cut short his World Cup celebrations. Since then, Yuvraj has been struggling to cement his place in the Indian squad. He has been dropped out of the series against Sri Lanka also.

Yuvraj Singh is eyeing a comeback in the team for the Australian series starting in September. Since his fight back from cancer, he has set up a foundation to help cancer patients. His foundation “YouWeCan” has raised significant funds and has helped society as a whole. The earnings of this brand are used as charity to help cancer patients.

Yuvraj has always sympathised with cancer patients and feels that he must do his best to help as many cancer patients he and his charity group can. The all-rounder posted a picture of a letter he received from the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.

The PM appreciated Yuvraj and his foundation for serving the society. Yuvraj in his post wrote,

It’s an absolute honour & privilege for all of us here at Youwecan to receive such an encouraging letter from Hon’ble Shri @narendramodi ji himself. We at @youwecan strongly believe that each one of us together can change the world and it’s not what you’ve got, its what you use that makes a difference. There is no greater reward than making someone else’s life better and making a difference in the world #youwecan #gratitude”

Yuvraj had initially sent a letter to the Prime Minister. The subject and content of the letter wasn’t disclosed in the post. Yuvraj Singh, who has a fighting spirit, will be looking to make a comeback to the Indian team and play the 2019 World Cup.
