Batting for Team India, former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar had a huge appetite for scoring runs. He had a hunger for amassing centuries, which is why he has recorded the most number of international centuries (100). Former England captain Nasser Hussain, who played against the run-machine, reveals that he used to have numerous meetings with the team management to discuss how to pick Sachin’s wicket.
Sachin Tendulkar had the ability to wore down the opposition bowlers when he was on song. It was gruelling for the fielding team to pick litter master’s wicket once he set himself. Nasser also agreed to the same and said that Sachin had magnificent techniques. He added that before the match, he had to do a lot of planning and plotting to dismiss him early.

“Overall when I talk about all-time batsmen, Sachin Tendulkar had a magnificent technique. When I was England skipper, I cannot remember how many team meetings we used to have just to discuss how to get Tendulkar out,” Hussain recalled while speaking to Ian Bishop and Elma Smit in the latest episode of ICC podcast titled ‘Cricket Inside Out’.

In 2013, Sachin Tendulkar retired as the highest run-scorer in Tests and ODIs. After his retirement also, his many records stands still in cricket history. He has represented India in 200 Test matches where he has scored 15921 runs at an average of 53.78. In ODIs, he has scored 18426 runs in 463 matches at an average of 44.83. He was also a part-time bowler who had broken several partnerships. He has notched 46 Test wickets and 154 ODI wickets.
