Former England right-arm pacer Fred Trueman was the first man from any country to take 300 Test wickets. He had a successful career that spanned for a decade. He would have registered more than 400 wickets but he missed numerous tours for England because he was involved in a conflict with cricket board.

Nevertheless, he was the mainstay for his side and formed the best bowling pair with Brian Statham. He holds the record of bowling a no-ball in 67 Test matches(84 innings). He picked up 307 wickets at an average of 21.57.

Post his retirement, he became a popular author and broadcaster.
