New Zealand A vs India A 2018: 2nd Unofficial Test, Day 1 – Review; After ending the first game of the series in a draw, the Kiwis and the Indian side locked horns at Hamilton aiming for a victory. The first day of the second unofficial Test saw some quality, competitive cricket on display with both teams sharing the honours at the end of day one stumps.

Will Young knocks century:
Initially, it was India A, who won the toss and asked the home side to face the new ball from the Indian bowlers. The previous match centurion Hamish Rutherford and Will Young once again opened the innings for New Zealand A.
However,, unfortunately, the hosts lost Rutherford, who was retired hurt. He was quickly followed by Tim Seifert and Glenn Philips to make things worse. But, the skipper, Will Young displayed a great grit and determination in hanging out there.

He knocked the ball brilliantly and kept the Indians chasing the leather more often than not. Will Young was the only saviour for Kiwis, as none of the batsmen looked comfortable in tackling Indian attack.

Just when Young was trying to make things settle with the middle-order, Siraj injected a double-wicket spell to call curtains on the batsman’s thoughts. However, Kiwis took the sigh of relief when Theo Van stood firm with his skipper.
The duo added an unbeaten 80-run partnership for the sixth wicket to see both the sides sharing the honours on day one of the second official Test. At stumps, Will Young was batting on 117* while Theo Van was at the crease on 32*.

For India, Rajneesh Gurbani and Mohammed Siraj were the picks of the bowlers with two wickets to their name. Navdeep Saini chipped in with one wicket as well.
