New Zealand teenager hits six sixes in an over

Hitting six sixes in an over is one of the rarest records in cricket and one can understand the rarity of this feat from the fact that only two batsmen, Herschelle Gibbs, and Yuvraj Singh have achieved this feat in international cricket. Garfield Sobers and Ravi Shastri have also achieved this feat but in first class cricket.And the elite list has one more name.
19-years old new Zealand batsman Glenn Phillips has earned himself a little place in the history books after hitting six sixes in an over. Following the footsteps of his illustrious predecessors, Phillips is currently with the Marylebone Cricket Club as a part of their young cricketers’ program.
Playing for the MCC against the Duke of Norfolk XI, the wicket-keeper batsman, completed the remarkable 36-run over feat en-route to his 201 from just 123 balls.
In doing so Phillips became the first player to hit six sixes on the historic Arundel ground.
The right-hander’s 201 not out helped MCC to score 299 for five before declaring.In reply, the Duke of Norfolk XI made 174 for the loss of seven wickets at the end of the play as the match finished in a draw.
The youngster is regarded very highly in New Zealand cricket and is seen as the potential future opener for the Kiwis.The wicket-keeper batsman was born in South Africa but represented New Zealand at the under-19 world cup in February.
