New Zealand vs Australia 2017: Glenn Maxwell Turns Journalist For Kiwis’ Tom Latham In Presser

Ahead of the three-match One-Day International Chappell-Hadlee series decider, Australian batting all-rounder Glenn Maxwell turned into a journalist for New Zealand opener Tom Latham before asking him some serious questions, only to see journalists and the camera crew excited over his efforts.
The Victoria-born Maxwell asked Latham about the importance of Chappell-Hadlee Trophy after New Zealand lost the three-match series 3-0, last November in Australia.
“After a disappointing showing in the Australian series, how important is it for you guys to win the last game of the series?” Maxwell was quoted as saying by Seven Sport.
Maxwell posed impromptu questions to Latham during his practice session. He also reminded Latham about the trophy, which is currently in Australia’s possession.
“Yeah, obviously, very important, Maxi. We’d really like to have that Chappell-Hadlee (trophy) back so a good performance tomorrow and hopefully we can keep it in New Zealand,” Latham responded.
The video revealed cheeky Maxwell holding the cricketing gears while sitting down with Latham during New Zealand’s press conference at Seddon Park in Hamilton.
“The Aussies are known for scrapping and their backs are against the wall at the moment, how hard to do you reckon they’re going to come out tomorrow?,” Maxwell asked Latham
“Australia are obviously a very high class side, they’re number one in the world at the moment. I think we always know when we play them they’ll be very challenging and hostile,” Latham said
The 28-year-old Maxwell did not stop as he continued to banter with Latham, who duly obliged.
Maxwell complimented Latham for his part-time wicket-keeping skills.
“You’ve been compared to Adam Gilchrist with your wicket-keeping and left-hand opening batsman skills, how does that sit with you right now?,” Maxwell asked.
The hosts are currently leading the three-match series 1-0.
“That’s the first time I’ve heard it but I’ll take that,” Latham replied after being compared with Gilchrist by Maxwell.
Both teams will now face-off in the third ODI in Hamilton on Sunday.
