1. Off-Colour Virat Kohli
Another major reason for the defeat was Virat Kohli losing his wickets at the early stages. This might be the once in blue moon experience for the Indian skipper.
In the first game, Ish Sodhi clean bowled the Indian captain after he scored a half-century. Similarly, the veteran pacer Tim Southee bowled Kohli in the next game at Eden Park. While in the third game, he gave an easy catch on the ball of Hamish Bennett.
The flamboyant batsman failed to make things fall in place with the bat in all three games. Kohli scored just 75 runs in three matches.
It has been long when we have seen Kohli scoring a century.
