New Zealand wrist-spinner Ish Sodhi has lauded Indian cricketers for their willingness to share vast knowledge with anyone who approaches them with ample doubts in mind.
The Kiwis spinner spent some quality time interacting with the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Yuzvendra Chahal and managed to pick up the tricks of the trade from them.
The 27-year-old Ludhiana-born spinner Sodhi, who has represented New Zealand in 17 Tests, 32 ODIs and 45 T20 Internationals, said that he was inspired by the skills that Indian players possess.
Sodhi went on to praise Chahal for his generosity while also adding that it was an enticing experience in interacting with the Indian players.
Ish Sodhi expresses his admiration for Ashwin and Jadeja:

The New Zealand spinner also echoed that he developed a strong liking and admiration for two Ravi’s namely Ashwin for his wide range of tricks and Jadeja for his incredible work ethic.
“You start off with respect and want to tap into their brains. These are all very helpful guys more than willing to share their experiences,” Sodhi said while lavishing praise on Indian cricketers who help anyone.
“Chahal is a great person to tap into. He is completely a different bowler, big-hearted. It is great to rub shoulders with these guys and listen to their experiences,” he added. Sodhi said he is enamoured by Ashwin’s range of tricks and Jadeja’s work ethic.
“I was speaking to Jadeja the other day about how he goes on with his training. Talking to Ashwin about the carrom ball and the googly he bowls despite being an off-spinner. It’s crazy,” Sodhi added.

New Zealand announced the 13-man squad for two-match Test series against India with the first match scheduled to be played on February 21 at Basin Reserve in Wellington.
Unfortunately, Ish Sodhi hasn’t been picked for both Tests.
The spinner will be looking forward to working as spin consultant for IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR) apart from learning the tricks of the financial and operational side of franchise management.
“It’s a challenging role and the one that I am looking forward to. My main role will be that of spin consultant and devise plans for the spinners. Try and give them advice about some of the overseas players they haven’t played before,” Ish Sodhi spoke about his role.
From time to time, Sodhi has done exceedingly well for the Black Caps.
