After securing the five-match T20I series, Virat Kohli’s men will play the three-match ODI series against New Zealand. On Wednesday (5th February), the two teams will play the first ODI match at Seddon Park in Hamilton. This is the same venue where India and New Zealand played the third T20I match and the game went into the super over. The hosts will not ever think to take the first ODI match to the one-over eliminator.
Rohit Sharma ruled out of the series:
India’s opener Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the remainder of the New Zealand tour because of a calf injury. In the last T20I match, Sharma suffered from the injury while running between the wickets. Now, it has led his exclusion from the squad. And stands as a major setback for Team India.
While Mayank Agarwal has been called to the ODI squad. And it might be possible that he can play his maiden ODI against New Zealand. As on the eve of the match, Virat Kohli has said that KL Rahul will not open the innings and he will play in the middle order.
