New Zealand vs India 2020: Mohammed Shami’s majestic over; Virat Kohli hails the premium pacer:
Earlier, after losing the toss, India set the target of 180 runs. In the last over of the game, Black Caps needed nine runs when Mohammed Shami changed the scenario of the game. He picked the wicket of Kane Williamson, who missed his century by five runs. He then went on to pick the wicket of Ross Taylor on the last ball which led the game to super over. After the game, Indian skipper Kohli praised Shami’s bowling attack.
“Shami again showed his experience and put a couple of balls outside the off-stump. On the last ball, we had a discussion and we came to the conclusion that we had to hit the stumps because otherwise there is a single anyway and we are gonna lose the game. Shami went for it, got the wicket and the game turned on its head,” Virat said.
New Zealand vs India 2020: Jasprit Burmah’s bowling in super over:
In the super over, Kohli handed over the ball to Jaspit Bumrah, who is best known for his death bowling. But he was badly thrashed by Williamson as they set a total of 17 runs for the visitors in the super over.
However, Rohit Sharma‘s powerful sixes, in super over, gave the first-ever victory to India in the T20I series against New Zealand in New Zealand.
“In the super over, the discussion was that New Zealand will be feeling the pressure as they let the game slip away. Kane came out and played a couple of brilliant shots against Bumrah who is one of the best death-over bowlers in World Cricket. It was just a see-saw game,” Virat said.
