Niroshan Dickwella, Akila Dananjaya Find Place In Sri Lanka ”A” Tour of India 

A lot of star players have missed the flight to travel England for the ICC World Cup 2019 from Sri Lanka. The most surprising of them is the absence of the Niroshan Dickwella and Akila Dananjaya, who were expected to be the future stars of Sri Lanka. However, the board kept them in the scheme of things by asking them to play for ”A” Side of Sri Lanka.

After the recent attacks in Sri Lanka, the team will be travelling to India to lock horns with the A-side of India. They will play a couple of four-day games before locking horns for the five times in the One Day format of the game.

Niroshan Dickwella, Akila Dananjaya is standby players:

Alongside Akila Dananjaya and Niroshan Dickwella, as many as four other Test-cap-earned players were selected for the trip. Ashan Priyanjan, who has been brilliant in the domestic cricket will be leading both sides that will tour India from May 21st.

This would be the best chance for the players of both countries to impress the selectors. It would help them to be in the scheme of things. They can be called when the replacement is necessary for the team during the grand event.

Meanwhile, the spinner Lasith Embuldeniya was also picked in the squad alongside Niroshan Dickwella. However, his availability will be based on the doctor reports and his recovery phase. He recently suffered an injury while taking a return catch of Kagiso Rabada.

Danushka Gunathilka and the Chinaman bowler Lakshan Sandakar are the other two notable players. They missed the flight to England but will feature in the series against India ‘A’ side.
