South African cricketer Dale Steyn has picked up the playing XI with which he has played with or against. Surprisingly, his playing XI has no Indian players and only two overseas players. Also, former South African captain AB de Villiers, with whom the pacer has spent most of the time, is also not included in his team.

The fast bowler retired from the Test cricket last year. He also surfaced from injury because of which he was out of the team for a long time.

The 36-year-old made the comeback in the team this year in February.  He featured in the home T20I series against England and Australia where he picked up a total of three wickets.

Steyn has picked up Sri Lanka’s great Kumar Sangakkara and former South African captain Graeme Smith as the opening partners of his playing XI. Interestingly, there are some unknown names in his team, which according to Cricket South Africa (CSA) tweet is Dale’s “school bowling partner”, “best friend” and his “club captain”.

He placed Jacques Kallis, the greatest all-rounder of all the time, at the fourth slot while Jonty Rhodes, the greatest fielder, at the fifth slot. South Africa’s current captain Quinton de Kock is placed at No.6 by Dale Steyn.
