No One Recognized Pakistan In World Cricket Now We Are The Champions, Says Sarfraz Ahmed 1

Sarfraz Ahmed and his men created history today as they cruised to a majestic 180 run win over arch – rivals India to lift their maiden Champions Trophy title at the KIA Oval, London.

It surely is a dream come true moment for the Men in Green. After starting as the real underdogs and the least fancied side of the tournament, the unpredictable Pakistan scripted a memorable turnaround in their fortunes ransacked India’s challenge completely.

The win isn’t any normal win, it’s massive one; both in terms of numbers and significance as they had a very demoralising start to the tournament against the same opposition at Edgbaston. It was an embarrassing 124 runs loss which shattered the hopes of fans.

But, the loss was followed up by some really intriguing matches and ended in a grand style.

Speaking at the post-match conference, the skipper, Sarfaraz Ahmed, who was leading the side in his first ICC major, thanked the supporters for the tremendous belief in them despite starting the campaign with a terrible loss.

“After the India (group) match, I said to the boys that the tournament doesn’t finish here. Thanks to the team management. And look we are here today.”

Two men – Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Amir – were the wrecker-in-chief for Pakistan and played the biggest role in the win.

“Fakhar Zaman played like a champion batsman. I think all credit goes to my bowlers. Amir today. Hasan Ali throughout the tournament. This is a young team. When we arrived, we played like we had nothing to lose.”

Sarfraz announced the re-birth of the Pakistan cricket with this grand win.

“No one recognised Pakistan in world cricket, and here we are the champions. Keep praying for us, Pakistan.”
