No ties with Pakistan until the time this cross-border terrorism finishes: Gautam Gambhir 1

Amidst all debates going around whether India should play cricket with Pakistan or not, the Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir have also commented on the issue and have condemned views of people who vouch for cricketing ties with Pakistan, “I absolutely endorse that we should have no ties with Pakistan until the time this cross-border terrorism finishes, because I feel that people absolutely need to put themselves in the shoes of those who’ve lost their kids, someone who’s lost their father, son or husband,” Gambhir said.

This is a perfect statement by Gambhir and a tight slap on the face of people who endorse all such relations with Pakistan despite knowing the attitude of Pakistan towards India. Still, there are many filmmakers in our country who thinks that there is no issue in involving Pakistani artists in their movies. Now this is totally unexpected as for how can an Indian even think of working with a Pakistani despite knowing the tensions going between the two countries.  On one side our soldiers are giving their life for our nation, on the other hand, some anti-nationalists are still voicing their support for Pakistan.

“I totally endorse that until the time we don’t secure our own Indians, our own countrymen, all other things can be kept aside. I totally ensure that we should not have any relationship with Pakistan until cross-border terrorism is over,” added Gambhir.

Recently, BCCI took a positive step as they canceled the India-Pakistan women series taking a step in isolating Pakistan. A few weeks back, Anurag Thakur, the BCCI President also said that there is no scope of India-Pakistan series in nearby future. He even said that India will walk out against Pakistan in any ICC event awarding them 2 points. Surely, this is the best thing which cricket board and cricketers can do for the welfare of our country.

Gambhir also praised Virat Kohli on his Test captaincy and said “Virat Kohli leads Test team by example. When on the same team, Virat Kohli and I have the same goals. Virat Kohli and I are both aggressive & passionate individuals. There was nothing personal in IPL fight with Virat Kohli”

He also added that aggression is the part of the game and has to be aggressive while playing against Virat Kohli in IPL “If I play against Virat Kohli again & need to be aggressive, I will.”
