Nothing wrong in Robin Uthappa’s behaviour says KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir
Cricket is a game where the adrenaline does run high sometimes and the players on the field are bound to lose a bit of their cool. The Kolkata Knight Riders skipper defended his wicket-keeper Robin Uthappa after his altercation with the Royal Challengers Bangalore youngster Sarfaraz Khan during an IPL game this season.
Gambhir who asked the media not to blow the whole issue out of proportion added that when a team goes on to the field to win they are bound to get aggressive and that such things keep happening in the middle of a game when you have an aggressive approach.
However the match referee Javagal Srinath said that he had no knowledge of the altercation and that he has not received any complaint from the RCB officials in regard to this matter.
Even the KKR officials denied that allegation that Uthappa went so far as to catch a hold of the youngster’s collar in a heated moment and slipped them aside as rubbish.
Though it is believed that AB de Villiers and Ashoke Dinda were there on the scene and prevented the issue from growing and also believed that Uthappa apologized for his behavior Srinath denied that he had any knowledge of the incident.
