The dominant pair Virat Kohli and Ajnkya Rahane shared a partnership worth 365 runs for the fourth wicket which helped the team to put up a mammoth total of 557 runs. At one stage team, India was 3 down with a score of 100 and need some who could stay on the crease and hold the ground. Both Rahane and Kohli saw the need of the hour and batted alongside each other fro more than 110 overs t sail team’s boat par 450 together. Both the batsmen shattered N number of records and tore apart the record books.

This is the highest partnership between two Indian batsmen in terms of balls faced by them. they faced 672 balls amongst themselves.

Virat Kohli is the sixth Indian batsmen to score two double century in the same year. his first double-century came against West Indies on India tour of West Indies in July/August.

Ajinkya Rahane’s score of 188 is now the fourth highest scored by Indian batsmen batting at number 5.

This is only the second time India’s number 4 and number 5 batsmen have scored more than 150 runs.
