A New Zealand supporter and a fan of the national team got richer by $50,000 after taking a sensational one-handed catch in the crowd.
The shot came from the blade of Christchurch born Ben Stokes during the 2nd ODI between England and New Zealand. The fan became the 4th winner of the Tui’s catch a Million competition this particular summer. Meanwhile, the latest effort came from a wonderful hook shot from Stokes.
Stokes ended up scoring an unbeaten 63 during a comprehensive victory against the Kiwis at Mt.Maunganui. The spectator took the high ball pretty cleanly in his right hand on the embankment. Upon completing the catch, he celebrated the moment of his success with his mates. A few days back it was a builder from Dunedin who grabbed a one-handed catch during the ODI between New Zealand and Pakistan.
Earlier in the same match, Craig Dougherty snaffled a catch from a six of the blade of Martin Guptill. A 20-year-old student, Mitchell Grimstone also won the prize money when Ross Taylor smashed a six off the penultimate delivery of the recently concluded Trans Tasman series match against the Aussies at the Eden Park in Auckland.
The 3rd to bag the award was Rudi Bosman who snaffled a catch during the clash against England during the T20 trophy.
