New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson achieves another feat during the ongoing 3rd ODI against England at Wellington.
Williamson has been a prolific run-scorer for the Kiwi side since making his debut. Now, he becomes the fifth-fastest batsman to score 5000 ODI runs.
Meanwhile, the 3rd ODI between England and New Zealand is taking an exciting shape. Batting first, England posted 234 on the board banking on skipper Eoin Morgan and Ben Stokes.
Especially, New Zealand bowlers did exceptionally well to restrict a star-studded batting line up. Ish Sodhi was the top wicket-taker bagging three wickets.

Meanwhile, during his knock, Williamson went past Gordon Greenidge to become the fifth fastest batsman to score 5000 ODI runs. Also, Williamson achieved this feat in 119 ODI innings, two short of Greenidge’s 121.

Further, Williamson achieved this feat during the eighth over of New Zealand innings. Williamson got on top of a short ball bowled outside off and cracks it square past point, to reach the rare feat. Also, his raised his bat to acknowledge the crowd.
However, South Africa’s Hashim Amla still tops the list, as he reached this landmark in 101 innings. He was followed by Viv Richards (114 innings), Virat Kohli (114 innings), and Brian Lara (118 innings).
Williamson leads New Zealand in all the formats and is one of their premier batsmen. Also, he had staggering records to back his ability and got lauded by the cricketing fraternity.
