NZ vs IND 2020: He Is Passionate – Kane Williamson Reacts To Virat Kohli’s Send-Off

The Indian captain Virat Kohli is well known to play the game in a hard way. Kohli likes to take the bull by its horns and makes no bones about the same. The Indian captain had also given a harsh send-off to New Zealand captain Kane Williamson on Day two when the batsman was dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah. However, Kohli had said before the tour that they won’t think of revenge against Blackcaps as they are the nice guys.
Subsequently, Kane Williamson stated that we shouldn’t read much into Kohli’s aggressive send-off as he plays the game passionately and it is something which is natural to him. However, the Indian captain was not pleased when a journalist asked him about the same incident and he lashed out at the journalist.
Kohli was pumped up.
Kohli added that he had a word with Match Referee, Ranjan Madugalle and he didn’t have any issues with the same.
“What do you think? I am asking you the answer. You need to find out an answer and come up with a better question. You can’t come here with half questions and half details of what happened,” Kohli was quoted as saying in the press conference.
“Also, if you want to create controversy, this is not the right place. I spoke with the match referee (Madugalle) and he had no issues with what happened,” he added.
On the other hand, Kane Williamson was absolutely cool with it and didn’t take any of that to his heart. Williamson is well known for the gentleman behavior and he is lauded for the same.
“It is Virat and he is passionate about the field. I don’t think we need to read too much into it,” Williamson said.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli had a horrible series with the bat as he could score only 38 runs at an average of 9.50. Kohli could not get going and he was put under the cosh by the Kiwis bowlers. New Zealand was able to dominate in both the Test matches and sealed the series 2-0 after winning the second match by seven wickets.
India will next host South Africa in the three-match ODI series.
