Young Rachin Ravindra will replace Michael Bracewell in New Zealand’s ODI squad as the latter is set to join the RCB camp for IPL 2023. The 23-year-old has been called into the Black Caps ODI Squad to face Sri Lanka as Bracewell has been released to join Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Speaking on Michael Bracewell’s opportunity to play IPL 2023, New Zealand head coach Gary Stead, asserted Bracewell is the key contributor for the Black Caps in the white ball format since his debut and wants him to take up the opportunity to learn to accumulate to Indian conditions, where ODI world cup will be held later this year in India.
“Michael’s been a key contributor to our white ball teams since making his debut last year. It’s exciting he’ll get a chance to take up the learning opportunities the IPL provides – particularly as a spin bowling all-rounder. With a World Cup in India this year it’s great to have players getting more experience in those conditions,” Stead said.

Stead further added that it will be another opportunity for Rachin Ravindra to showcase his skills in the ODI series against Sri Lanka in the absence of their senior players who will leave earlier for the IPL 2023  and wants him to develop across all formats.

“This will be another good chance for him to spend time in the BLACKCAPS environment.”

Michael Bracewell will be the replacement for Will Jacks who picked up the injury during the Bangladesh series forcing him out of IPL 2023. Bracewell has a tremendous record in white ball cricket with bat and ball, he performed in very well India, in the recent series against India.

Michael Bracewell will join the RCB team at his base price of INR 1 crore. Earlier, in IPL 2023 auction, Bracewell was not picked by any teams but will try to make use opportunity with the RCB side. Bracewell is known for his hard-hitting batting towards the end of the innings and quality off-spin and can give perfect back-option for Glenn Maxwell.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will be looking to end their long wait for their maiden IPL trophy in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
