If we go by the 4 year stats it is the Indian team that has dominated the ODI cricket in the past 4 years however the record of the team in the recently concluded tri series along with England and Australia. India played 99 ODI matches after the world cup and have won 57 of those, next in the list is Sri Lanka with 56 wins in 118 matches.
Australia, who have looked in great form lately are on number 3 with 48 wins in 83 matches. South African and the New Zealand team have also shown great touch in the recent series but in this list they are on number 6 and 8 respectively, but still the top teams would be aware of what these two teams are capable of doing. Most experts also feel that the 4 teams that would make it to the semi-finals are India, AUstralia, New Zealand and South Africa.
If we go by this list then it is definitely India and Australia that appear has favourites but recent form of all teams says something else. However, we will know how good each team is in their current form only in the 1st round of 2015 World Cup starting 14 February, 2015.
