Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is considering appointing a psychologist to help their national team during the high-octane ODI World Cup later this year in India. The idea to appoint a psychologist is likely to take happen as most of the players will have huge expectations and pressure to perform in the mega event later this year.

The Men in Green will have most of their players playing their cricket for the first time in India and the decision on the participation of Pakistan in the ODI World Cup will be taken in the high-level government meeting next week.

The Pakistan Cricket Board is currently working on their potential participation in the tournament, as they will send a team to assess the security arrangements in the stadiums where Pakistan will play their games in tournaments and their government is very much concerned about the safety of their players, who will the World Cup in India.

According to the reports, PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf is likely to speak with the Pakistan skipper regarding the appointment of a psychologist who can help them during the mega event in India as a lot of players will be under pressure to do well for the country in India. Earlier, during the Pakistan tour Of India in 2012, they went in with a Psychologist in the squad.

Pakistan’s participation in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023 in India is likely to happen with the meeting between the government agencies and high ministerial having a positive ending. The long-standing tension and conflicts between the two neighbouring countries have cast a shadow over Pakistan’s participation in the mega event later this year.

The Men in Green will fancy their chances of coming into the marquee event in India, as they have got enough resources in the team to win the championship in India. They have not won the World Cup since clinching their maiden title way back in 1992. Since then, they have made it to the final just once in 1999, and are still looking to win their second World Cup title.
