Shikhar Dhawan – There was a time in the year when Shikhar Dhawan was dropped from the ODI side. He also axed from Test and T20I side as well but it was merely a matter of time when Dhawan, after an injury to KL Rahul, made a comeback in all the formats of the game.
He first continued his dream run ICC Champions Trophy and scored 338 runs in the five games at an average of 67.60 and then fixed a place for himself. In the year, he played 22 ODIs and batted at an average of 48.00 for his 960 runs. One of the best highlights of this year was his strike rate which was 101.37.
Dhawan could have touched the 1000 run mark this year but missed few games due to one or the other reasons.
