  1. First ever limited over game:

It was the Gillette Cup way back in 1963 that the first One-day International was played in the world of cricket.

Lancashire and Leicestershire went head to head at the Old Trafford in Manchester in a game that was dampened by rain. The game was forced into the second day due to the weather and a 65-over a side game was played on the next day.

Lancashire scored 304 for 9 in their 65 overs (reduced to 60 overs-a-side in 1964) and bowled Leicestershire out for 203 recording the first ever victory in limited over cricket.
