- Career best score for Waugh:
In what turned out to be one of the best innings of his stellar career, Steve Waugh responded to West Indies’ domination in the early 90’s with a sizzling knock at Jamaica.
In the 4th test of Australia’s tour of West Indies in 1995, West Indies who won the toss and chose to bat were all out for just 265 runs in the first innings. Australia made sure that they only batted once thanks to centuries from Mark Waugh and Steve Waugh. Steve Waugh went on to make his century count and scored 200 before holding out to Brian Lara in the slip.
The visitors won the game with an innings and 53 runs but this game will be remembered for Waugh’s highest score in his test career.
