After taking shots at Virat Kohli, former Pakistan pacer Sohail Khan has now taken a jibe at another Indian cricketer. The former pacer has now made a comment about India pacer Umran Malik who has turned heads with his to bowl really fast.

Umran made his debut for Team India last year and is fast becoming a key member of the team in the limited-overs cricket. He has already been hailed by many as one of the most exciting players to have donned the Indian jersey in Indian cricket.

Sohail Khan, however, has different views about the pacer. Speaking on The Nadir Ali podcast, the ex-cricketer stated that while Umran is a good bowler for India, he can count 12-15 bowlers who can bowl at his pace and play tape-ball cricket in Pakistan.

“I feel this Umran Malik guy is a good bowler. I’ve seen 1-2 matches. He runs fast and has kept other things is check as well. But if you think of fast bowlers with speed in excess of over 150-155 kph, I can count 12-15 players right now who play tape-ball cricket. If you go visit the trials organised by Lahore Qalandars, you’ll find many players,” said Sohail Khan.

“Our domestic setup is filled with bowlers like Umran Malik. When a bowler comes through in our domestic level, he comes a bonafide bowler. Like Shaheen, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, these are bowlers who know their stuff. I can give you plenty of names,” he added.

Sohail Khan on Shoaib Akhtar’s record:

With Umran Malik impressing one and all with his pace, he has been compared with Shoaib Akhtar, one of the fastest bowlers the game has ever witnessed. Umran has already broken the record of the fastest delivery by an Indian bowler, which was earlier held by Jasprit Bumrah.

And as he keeps growing from strength to strength, the Indian cricket fraternity is hopeful he would go on to break Shoaib Akhtar’s record of the fastest delivery bowled in international cricket. Sohail Khan, however, has said that it is not possible for a human being to break Akhtar’s record.

“There is only one thing that can break Shoaib Akhtar’s record, and that is called a bowling machine because no human can ever do it. The reason is that the amount of hard work that Shoaib had put in, no one has. He used to complete 32 rounds in one day; I used to do 10 in a week. He would run on mountains with weight tied his legs and sprint,” said Sohail Khan.
