India’s head coach Ravi Shastri has done a brilliant job since starting his second chapter with the lads. Kohli and his men thumped the Sri Lankans in their backyard in a massive 9-0 whitewash which portrayed the strength of the Kohli-Shatri combination.
After the departure of Anil Kumble, Shastri pitched in with some alterations in the Indian practice sessions which have probably worked for the team. Though the team has been highly successful in the subcontinent in the past one year, we have seen the Indian batting line-up struggle at times outside Asia.
Speaking of the same, Shastri seemed confident that his boys will be able to cope up with conditions in South Africa. However, the head coach mentioned that the group is focusing entirely on the Sri Lanka series at the moment.

According to the former international, the team is expecting raging competition in South Africa with firing tracks.
When asked about taking tips from some South African legends before the series, Shastri added:
“Frankly speaking, we have not started planning for the South Africa tour in detail. At the moment, we are concentrating on the ongoing Sri Lanka series”
“We have to play on fiery wickets, which will have pace and bounce.”
Shastri clearly pointed out that the biggest challenge for the Indians in South Africa will be to handle the pace. Having said that, he also stated that his boys are ready for the battle.
“We are ready to play on fast wickets. Our challenge will be to handle the pace. Obviously, pace and bounce will differ a little bit from one ground to another. We are prepared to play on bouncy wickets. We will be ready for that. I am confident that our team will do well on fast tracks on the tour of South Africa.”
