Former Pakistan skipper and legendary cricketer Imran Khan praised Babar Azam for his technique and temperament in his brilliant batting in world cricket and reckons Babar has the potential to do special things for the country on the global stage.

The 28-year has been a fine performer for men in green in all three formats and is regarded as one of the greatest batters from Pakistan to play in World Cricket. Speaking about Babar Azam’s heroics in the world of Cricket, the former Pakistan cricketer praised Babar for his technique, talent, and temperament in cricket.

“Our captain [Babar Azam] is an outstanding batsman. I have seen a batsman of such quality after a very long time. I have analyzed him in every way because I analyze batsmen through a bowler’s lens. His technique, talent, and temperament are all brilliant. It is very rare to find all three of these things in one batsman, but he has them all. He has the potential to go ahead of everyone,” Imran Khan said on a local Tv channel.

Babar Azam is known for his consistency in world cricket, as he scored runs in all parts of the world, Babar has a total of 28 hundred in all formats of cricket in International cricket, with over 59.42 average in 50 overs format in 93 innings.
During the T20 series against New Zealand, Babar went past Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma’s record of T20I centuries as a skipper, with his latest hundred for Pakistan, it was Babar’s third century in T20Is, and all of them have come while leading the national side.
Overall, the 28-year-old now is second on the list of most hundreds in T20Is alongside Australia’s Glenn Maxwell, New Zealand’s Colin Munro, and India’s Suryakumar Yadav, with three hundred in T20Is.

Babar Azam  As A Captain Makes A Lot Of Sense – Imran Khan

Imran Khan revealed that he has watched Babar Azam playing a couple of times and wanted then Pakistan cricket chairman Ehsan Mani, to appoint him as the national team’s captain and added that as a world-class player Babar commands respect in the team.

“I only watched him [Babar] play twice and immediately asked the head of the cricket board, you must make him the captain because he is genuinely world-class. Babar as the captain makes a lot of sense because you want your captain to be world-class so that he commands respect,” Imran Khan speaking to Piers Morgan said.

Babar Azam is currently playing the T20 series against the Kiwis, the Pakistan team is currently leading the five-match series 2-1 on home soil, with the fourth game being washed due to rain on Thursday. The Men in Green will take on the Kiwis in the final match of the T20 series on April 24 (Monday). Meanwhile, the ODI series will kick start in Rawalpindi on April 26. The remaining four ODIs will take place in Karachi.
