Pakistan could take away number 1 rank from India: Inzmam-ul-Haq 1

Current Pakistan selector Inzamam-ul-Haq said that the Pakistan cricket team could snatch the number 1 ranked spot from India.

“There is nothing we can do but Pakistan is still capable of beating other teams and get back the number one Test spot from India,” the former Test captain said.

“The way we fought back from 1-2 down to level the series in England was a heartening performance. India has not done that well outside their country in Tests. They lost their last series in England.”

Pakistan has not played any international cricket at home for the last six years which is a great achievement.

“What can one say on this Indian refusal since 2007 to play us in Test matches. It is disappointing for me as I have played and captained against India in both countries and I know how much these matches mean to people of both countries and cricket world,” Inzamam told PTI in an interview.

The Indian team is currently playing the third test at Indore. They are leading the series 2-0. While Pakistan will face West Indies in a three-match test series from 13th October. India needs to win or draw the 3rd test match to retain the number 1 ranked team in test matches.

Pakistan needs to win the test series and hope India loses the 3rd test match against New Zealand.
