Former Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq is all set to take up the role of Pakistan Chief selector of the team as the future of the director of cricket Mickey Arthur and head coach Grant Bradburn will be known earlier next week ahead of the all-important Asia Cup.

Inzamam-ul-Haq held the position of team selector during 2016-2019 when the team had success winning the championship trophy in 2017 and is likely to return to the position as the Pakistan Cricket Board are keen on having him in the setup.

According to various reports, Cricket Technical Committee is set to discuss the new selection committee and the future of the team management will be decided after having a brief talk with the Pakistan skipper and PCB chairman.

“The Cricket Technical Committee members including Misbah ul Haq, Inzamam, and Muhammad Hafeez have been discussing the new selection committee and it is yet to be decided whether Arthur and Bradburn should remain members on it.”

“Once Babar’s views are taken, the Cricket Technical Committee will also finalize its recommendation for the Chairman,” the source said.

The source said that Mickey Arthur and Grant Bradburn may be removed from their position if they are removed from the selection process as they might not be happy to continue with their role if they don’t have a say in the selection of the team going into Asia Cup 2023.

Earlier, Misbah-ul-Haq was appointed head of the cricket technical team alongside former Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez, who will advise the Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman on cricketing affairs in the country.
